These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are effective as of May 12, 2025, and are subject to exclusions and limitations. These Terms are between Steel Chef (“Steel Chef”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and the original customer named on the invoice, bill of sale, or estimate (“Customer”, “you”, or “your”).
Please read these Terms carefully before purchasing any products from us. By purchasing from Steel Chef, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
Return Policy
All items purchased from Steel Chef are subject to this Return Policy.
Except for items marked as final sale, clearance, closeout, non-returnable, or non-refundable, eligible items may be returned within 30 days of purchase for exchange or store credit, at the Customer’s expense, provided they are returned in the exact condition in which they were originally purchased.
Returned items eligible for store credit are subject to a 25% restocking fee and must be returned in original packaging, unused, and without damage.
It is the Customer’s responsibility to review the warranty and return policy applicable to each product prior to purchase. Please inspect all items carefully before payment.
To initiate a return, contact us at [email protected]. We will provide return instructions and assist with the process where possible.
Customers are responsible for all costs associated with disconnecting, repackaging, and shipping returned products back to our facility. If assistance is needed arranging return shipping, please contact us.
Important Notice
Commercial-grade products may show minor scratches, scuffs, dents, or cosmetic imperfections. These are considered normal and do not affect product performance. Commercial equipment prioritizes durability and functionality over cosmetic appearance.
Store Credit
Eligible returns made within 30 days of purchase will receive store credit only. No cash refunds will be issued.
Store credits:
- Have no expiry date
- May be applied toward future purchases
- Are non-transferable unless otherwise approved by Steel Chef

Damages & Order Issues
Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery or pickup.
If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, you must notify Steel Chef in writing within 24 hours of receipt (the “Inspection Period”).
Your notice should include:
- A description of the issue
- Photos of the damage or defect
- Your proof of purchase
If no notice is provided within the Inspection Period, the products will be deemed accepted and free from visible defects or discrepancies.
Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
The following items are non-returnable and considered final sale:
- Opened, used, or damaged items
- Refrigeration units
- Freezer units
- Ovens
- Stoves
- Cooking ranges
- Cabinets
- Display cabinets
- Preparation stations
- Tables
- Racks
- Dishwashers
- Large commercial appliances and equipment
Many equipment issues can be resolved remotely. If you experience a problem with your equipment, please contact our support team before requesting a return.
Exchanges
Eligible exchanges may be completed within 30 days of purchase.
We recommend exchanges be handled in person whenever possible. Exchanges involving shipped items may be refused if products are damaged during return transit.
Customers are responsible for all shipping-related costs associated with exchanges unless otherwise approved by Steel Chef.
Limited Warranty
Unless otherwise specified, new appliances and equipment (“Equipment”) sold by Steel Chef include a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
For refrigeration equipment, compressor parts are covered by a separate 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Warranty Conditions
The warranty:
- Applies only to the original purchaser
- Is non-transferable
- Becomes void if the Equipment is relocated from its original installation location
To submit a warranty claim, Customers must provide:
- Original proof of purchase
- A description of the issue
- Photos or videos upon request
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Shipping damage
- Cosmetic damage
- Abuse or misuse
- Improper installation
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications
- Damage caused by negligence or improper maintenance
- Normal wear and tear
Examples of non-covered damage include:
- Broken doors
- Broken locks
- Damaged legs
- Broken glass
- Controller modifications
Steel Chef reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- Repair the product
- Replace the product
- Issue store credit or refund equal to the original purchase price
The warranty is void if:
- Repairs or modifications are performed by unauthorized persons
- Digital controllers are altered
- Equipment is installed by an unqualified or uncertified installer where certification is required
Limitation of Liability
By purchasing products from Steel Chef, the Customer agrees that Steel Chef, its affiliates, employees, directors, officers, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
This includes, without limitation:
- Food spoilage
- Loss of business
- Loss of profits
- Operational downtime
- Third-party damages
Steel Chef’s maximum liability shall not exceed the original purchase price paid for the applicable product.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.
